This week has felt like a zoo AND it ended with a trip to the zoo, so highly appropriate title. First up is a picture of the cake I did this week for YW. We were making temple time capsules and an idea that was brought up was to make a mini wedding cake, so this is what I came up with. It was a lot of fun to make and the girls enjoyed it immensely!!
Other stuff that went on this week: Sam had his first soccer game on Wednesday and did AWESOME! He started off as goalie and blocked 5 or 6 shots and then later in the game scored his team's only goal!! Thursday we had friends over for dinner and a movie night, which was lots of fun! Friday Mommy had a dr. appointment and everything continues to look good with baby.
Saturday we went to the little zoo in Idaho Falls with two sets of Potters and the kids had a great time. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a picnic lunch together at the park afterwards. On the way home we stopped by a few local stores to take part in their little freebies they were doing for Mother's Day, which the kids enjoyed ALOT! One of these was planting a flower for Mommy. Amy has been carrying her little cup with a petunia plant around the house she loves it so much! Sam was super excited they had snapdragons to plant because ever since I showed him them last year they have been his favorite flower :)
Half an hour after we got home from all of that, Uncle Jacob came over to get the guns and ammo to go shooting with Daddy for his birthday. Sam really wanted to go, so I sent him with Jake. Amy woke up from her nap, so she and I snuggled in the cool basement and watched one of Mommy's shows to relax. That night we decided to go out for pizza since Daddy was finally home and then joined Jake and Stacey for cake and ice cream to celebrate Jake's birthday.
We ended up getting home and going to bed way late, so no one wanted to get up in the morning, but we did finally manage to drag ourselves out and enjoyed Daddy's blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I taught YW at church on patriarchal blessings, which was really interesting to learn more about. After church none of us slept well despite being extremely tired. Turns out Sam started having diarrhea and stomach cramps and Amy threw up after dinner.
So....it wasn't the most relaxing or enjoyable of Mother's Days, but we were together and I did make myself a rather yummy white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert (hence going to bed super late the night before, waiting for it to bake). Hopefully my Mother's Day gifts of a massage and air conditioning for the house come sooner rather than later. Lately I have begun to get to that end stage of pregnancy where I am hot, swollen, and it gets difficult to move around. Happy to be having a baby, but tougher to get through each day is all. Hope all the moms out there had a great Mother's Day!! The kids still woke up not feeling well today, so we are just hunkering down waiting it out and getting some laundry and house cleaning done. Fun Monday.
Hope you enjoy the pictures from our adventures at the zoo!!
Happy mothers day!! The zoo looks like so much fun. I didn't know they had one in Idaho Falls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer that your kiddos got sick. :( Hopefully they are over it soon. Enjoy that air conditioning, what a perfect Mother's Day gift!!!
