Back at It!

Look at this! I am back and only a month later! Alot has happened the last month, so let's get started! This is a pic of my cherry tree - it is doing awesome! I am so super excited and happy to finally be getting fruit trees, strawberries, a garden, and a yard this year!! We started out with 7 fruit trees: one plum, one cherry, one peach, and four apple.
Our sa-weet riding lawn mower!! This took the longest to arrive, but is the purchase I am most excited about! Thanks to Robert's connections through work, we were able to purchase this baby for cost from John Deere!
Snuggling with my baby boy who is growing way too fast. It was a gorgeously warm day and we were just hanging out on the couch waiting for pasta to cook for dinner while listening to Sam and Amy play outside. Best part? He fell asleep!
This is usually the kind of stuff he is doing lately - getting in to everything!! This was an entire tray of containers of flowers we had started inside from seeds. Just a little frustrating.
For the last storytime of the year, they had a police officer come and read to the kids and then he took them outside to see his cruiser. Amy wasn't impressed, but Sam thought it was cool and got some extra special attention from the officer afterwards when he heard that he and Sam had the same name - it was really cute!
Yep, see. I have proof that he is a naughty kid lately. I really don't care for this stage where they eat everything, unload everything, and you always have to worry about where they are and what they are doing.
This last week we had a Mother/Daughter party for YW. Problem was the other advisor I work with had surgery the week before, so I was basically left to plan and carry out the entire thing. I think it turned out well, although it was frustrating that not everyone took part in the activities I planned, but what can you do? I think it turned out cute with the colors and everything.
A pic I took in hopes of turning it into a magnet, but didn't quite work. Still a fun pic to get though! Who doesn't love little feet?
Me, Amy, and Mark went to school with Sam for his Mother's Day Brunch where he gave me the gifts he had made and sang some of his Spanish songs and we ate yummy treats.
 Mark in his favorite spot.
Amy eating a cupcake at Cocoa Bean on her birthday.
With her beloved Barbie cake. Those things really are a ton of work and it gets crazy when you dive right in without a plan, but she still talks about her Barbie cake, so it was definitely worth it. Someday I will learn to plan my design before I start :)
I took the kids to Bear World on half price day and we had a pretty good time. Until Amy screamed at me and so we had to go home. Then came out the weeping and wailing - such is my life these days (or at least it feels that way) Someday I WILL get a handle on myself and my children..........someday
Another major yard tool purchase. I am excited to have this one!
I was excited to be asked to be a chaperone for Sam's school field trip to Bear World.
Our first major work on the yard was to put together two 25 foot by 4 foot boxes for strawberries. We ended up being able to drive out to the old cow farm and get potato cellar logs to use for the boxes. We partially buried them and then rototilled the dirt inside with some really good dirt (peat moss, compost, vermiculite blend). We ended up planting 135 plants.
Totally random and awesomely cool thing - I won a drawing on Facebook from Deseret Book for this framed canvas painting by Greg Olsen! Totally free! It was crazy because they messaged me saying I had won and I was confused because I swore the drawing had ended way before. When I went back to check, yes it had. Turns out the original winner never responded, so I was drawn next! Out of over 2,000 people who entered!! Who has that happen to them? I'm thinking I want to hang this in our bedroom because the frame is the same brown as our bedroom set.
My Mother's Day present!! Although I love the bike I have had for sentimental reasons, it was definitely time for a new one. Basic story, bought it myself when I was 12 for $150. This one is a sweet combo between a mountain bike (has 24 gears) and a cruiser (easier on your back, etc). And I was even able to get the cute basket on the front, which comes in handy when we go somewhere and I can put the garage door opener and my phone in there instead of the dirty bike trailer. I love it!!
This is totally payback from all the literal crap I gave my parents when I was a baby, but is still not fun. Mark has moved into wearing 2 piece PJ's and this particular time he had poop that was a little mushier than usual. I came in to find he had not only played in it and smeared it everywhere, but was eating it! Enough said, right? Oh the joys.
Mark has also started pulling himself up on things and would push hard enough on the gate to topple it over and fall down the stairs. This poor kid fell down them a number of times before we were able to by a sturdier gate! It was never a problem with Amy.
It is getting so very close to the end of the school year! Just two weeks left now! For kindergarten, they count down to the end of school by doing fun stuff each day and reviewing each letter. We went all out for Crazy Hair Day. He loved it!
And here he is with some of his buddies having their Teddy Bear Picnic (inside because it was cold)
And a few pictures from everyone dressed up nice for Easter

We made Mark squeeze in to this adorable outfit one.last.time.

And a couple pic's from the Easter Egg hunt. We went to Menan this year because we have heard good things and we had a friend going who could show us where it was at.
