Fireman Birthday Party

Our friends, the Rexburg Potters (Andrew, Heidi, Hyrum, & Josiah), decided to have a way cool fireman birthday party this week and invited us and the "regular" Potters (Robert, Julie, Josh, Lilly, Johnny, & Katie) to join in the fun. We started the party off with a tour of the Rexburg fire station. The kids LOVED getting to climb inside both an ambulance and a fire truck. Above are the bigger kids: Lilly, Josh, Sam, Johnny, and Hyrum.
And on the outside as well.
 Best buddies: Josh and Sam!!
Josh grabbed the fireman's helmet and stood this way posing until I noticed and finally took his picture :) The kids got to see the fireman put on all his gear and then we ended the tour with each kid getting to try spraying the fire hose hooked up to the fire hydrant!!
After the tour, we went to the park and played until the free lunch. Then we did cupcakes and presents and ended the party with a ride on the carousel!! It was such a blast, thanks for inviting us, Potters!!
Not a whole lot else for this week. Daddy has been working hard bringing more dirt for the yard, but we have run into a few issues concerning some county requirements we were unaware of, so things are kind of at a halt until we figure out how to handle the situation. That and we are just hanging out waiting for baby boy to decide when he is going to make his grand appearance. At our appointment on Wednesday, he was at -3 station (high up), only 1 cm dilated (out of 10), and 50% effaced. But there has been plenty of "activity" the last few days, so we are hoping he will decide soon to come on his own. If we get to 40 weeks (this Wednesday), then we will most likely opt for an induction. Even though an induction isn't ideal for a VBAC, going past 40 weeks with a VBAC isn't a great option, either, so we are choosing the lesser of the two evils.

June

So we have been busy with....you know....summer stuff? Yeah, no real good excuse here as to why I haven't posted. I blame it on the lack of pictures available to post. We have been making real progress on our yard this month!!
Robert has been working hard to bring in tons of dump truck loads of dirt and Uncle Jake has been helping run the skidsteer to smooth out the piles. We think maybe three or four more dumps and we will have enough dirt and can start the next phase!!
Here is a random picture I found on the computer from one of Sam's soccer games. I'm pretty sure we were playing around on the iPad, but not sure how that got on to the computer? Anyways, we have been enjoying doing soccer for a little while before baby boy comes.
And then the last two weeks have been just nuts! We left for a visit to Washington for five or six days and had a blast with my sister and her family! We miss our Potter family dearly and it was just the thing we all needed to shore us up for the new change coming to our family.
The day after we got back, it was Sam's best friend, Josh's, birthday party!! This year was his first having a friend party and they decided to do swimming. The kids had a blast with the squirters, slip-in-slide, pool, and hose on the swingset slide.
After that came a visit from Opa and Uncles Daniel and Matthew for the weekend!! After seeing our awesome fishing pictures, they just couldn't stay down in St. George and had to come try it out for themselves! We loved having them visit us and took a little trip over to Bear World on Friday (yeah, no pictures, sorry!)
Then on Saturday while all the guys went floating the river to do the real fishing, Amy and I headed to Rexburg to help throw a baby shower for Aunt Stacey, who will be having her first baby in September. It was a lot of fun and Amy loved being one of the big girls!!
So now all the big things are over and we just get to sit back and wait for whenever baby boy decides to make his grand appearance. We have 10 days until the due date and if we hit that day, then we will take matters into our own hands to help him come. Wish us luck!!!
(no, I did not make this cake, but it turned out pretty cool and I thought I would share anyway)
